A story of rock, love and friendship, Leto is set in 1981 Leningrad when the rock scene began to flourish, influenced by rock bands such as Led Zeppelin and David Bowie. The film portrays that vibrant time and features the rise to fame of various rock singers, including Viktor Tsoi, who became a pioneer of Russian rock. The Russian band ShortParis is responsible for much of the soundtrack.
