Conversation “Guy Debord: the society of the spectacle”

Published as a book in 1967 and reinterpreted and rethought for the cinema in 1974, Guy Debord's “The Society of the Spectacle” is a fundamental manifesto in the critique of culture and society in the 20th century. Our invited specialists will talk about the impact, importance and reminiscences of this magnificent work.

Gabriel Zacharias

Professor of History at the University of Campinas (Brazil). He has studied the Guy Debord archives at the French National Library and the Situationist Documents at the Beinecke Library.

Carlos Estella (Moderator)

Poet, editor, graphic designer and teacher. Master in Iberian and Hispanic American Studies from the Université Bordeaux Montaigne (France), where he is a professor of Spanish and Latin American civilization.
