Latin America  and Europe

With the aim of building bridges between Latin America and Europe, the laboratory proposes a space for work, training and development for film projects from Peru and the region, which have co-production opportunities with Europe._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_

The laboratory focuses on projects in the development phase, and its objective is to  enhance its  opportunities by establishing links with professionals and potential European and Latin American co-producers .

To do this, the laboratory brings together a panel of local and international professionals from the fields of direction, production, distribution and financing, focused on international co-production.

In this third edition, the laboratory will select 6 projects.  Registration is open until May 19, 2021 (23:59).  Those interested must read the rules and fill out the registration form.

ADVISORS:

MARJORIE BENDECK
(Germany)

Degree in communication and marketing, master's degree in organizational psychology, theory studies and film production in Mexico and EICTV in Cuba. He has lived in Germany since 2003, working for festivals, funds and training programs internationally. Advisor on film projects for ACE Producers, MEDIA and the Berlinale World Cinema Fund, and teaches pitch and development workshops for the Mediterranean Film Institute, Locarno Open Doors and the IFFR-Pro in Rotterdam, among others. Since 2018 she has been co-production market director for Eastern Europe Connecting Cottbus.

ILARIA GOMARASCA
(Italy)

Former Manager of the Festivals area of Pyramide International, he managed the launch in the circuit of international festivals of award-winning films such as the trilogy of the winner of the EFA Patricio Guzman (Nostalgia for the light, The Pearl Button, The Cordillera of Dreams), winner of the Golden Globe "Leviathan" by Andrey Zvyagintsev and three winners of the Golden Camera at Cannes (Party Girl, Land and Shade and Our Mothers), is an independent film professional with more than 10 years of experience. Ilaria is Head of First Cut + (part of the First Cut Lab), a new program supported by Creative Europe's MEDIA  , created to boost promotion and audience engagement strategies for films at the stage of post-production, predominantly from European countries with low production capacity. Since 2017, she has been a consultant and member of the selection committee for several film festivals, including De Rome à Paris (France), Cinemania (Québec), FIFF Festival du Film Francophone de Namur (Belgium) and advisor on festival strategy and audience development. for independent producers and during international workshops (IFeature UK, First Cut +, Eurodoc).

PETER PALACIOS
(Spain)

Audiovisual producer with more than 20 years of experience in project management for Film, TV, advertising, and digital content for the Internet.  Head of international production at Star Line Productions, Director of TV Programs in New Atlantis, participating in film projects such as “Carmen” by Vicente Aranda, “Ausentes” by Daniel Calparsoro, “Cachorro” by Miguel Albaladejo. Executive Producer in Spanish in the world (TVE), Madrid Opina (Telemadrid), O Valencians Pél Mon (Channel 9). Partner of Odessa Films. Finalist in the 2013 Goya Awards for Best Documentary Short for “Las viudas de Ifni”. He combines his professional activity with teaching and training in the audiovisual sector, being Director of the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Law at the ECAM (2012-2016), Expert Collaborator in Audiovisuals of the Master's D and professor at the International Film School of San Antonio de Los Baños (EICTV), among others. He has a  Master in Audiovisual Business Management (Instituto de Empresa), Diploma in Audiovisual Production (ECAM) and a degree in Political Science and Sociology (Complutense University of Madrid).

ESME JOFRE
(Chili)

Chilean graduated in the specialty of production of the 22nd generation of the Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. She was awarded a scholarship by the Government of Canada and the Government of Mexico to strengthen her training program as an executive producer in Film. In 2015 she was invited to join the Production teaching staff at the University Center for Film Studies of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (CUEC). As Executive Producer, she has several projects, including “Idillyum” by director Denise Fernándes (Switzerland) and “La Casona” by director Juliette Touin (France), awarded the Silver Dragon at the 54th Edition of Krakow Film Festival (Poland). ), among others. He has also produced the feature film 4Vientos by director Pablo Diconca (Canada, Mexico, Chile); The short film Carrizos by the director Dinazar Urbina (Mexico) Winner Short Films Production States IMCINE 2016. As Executive Advisor in the documentary feature film Laberinto Yoéme by the director Sergi Pedro Ros (Mexico) Winner of the Support for Film Production (FOPROCINE) 2015.

LOUIS RENEO
(Spain)

Castilian-La Mancha producer who entered the Film Production Master's Degree at the Chapman University School of Cinematography in Los Angeles with a scholarship. Selected by the Marion Knott program, he completes his training mentored by David S. Ward (The Heist), Leonard Schroeder (Kiss of Spider Woman) and John Badham (Saturday Night Fever, War Games). After producing and directing the short films COOL IT, EXCITINE COMPLEX and A BETTER LIFE (Jury Award at the Tetouan International Film Festival), his first feature film script, LIVING THE DREAM, was screened and distributed in the United States, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

He has been director of development for Green Moon Productions, producer of Antonio Banderas (Locos in Alabama, El Cuerpo) and Catch 23 (One Hour Photo).

In 2008 he was selected by Paulo Coelho among directors from around the world to bring to the screen the chapter “ATHENA” of the feature film based on his novel THE WITCH OF PORTOBELLO. In 2010 he won the Top 10 Award at the Slamdance Screenwriting Competition for the screenplay ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, written together with Rodrigo Patiño.

In 2017 he was the scriptwriter and director of the documentary segments of the docu-fiction feature film ONYX, LOS REYES DEL GRAIL, starring JIM CAVIEZEL (The Passion of the Christ) and MARÍA DE MEDEIROS (Pulp Ficiton).

In 2018 he directed the feature film PSEUDO, which has received support for the development of the Ibermedia Program, was awarded Best Ibero-American Project during the Bolivia Lab 2014 and won the Distribution Award at the Havana Film Festival in 2018.

In 2019, he produced and directed the video for the declaration of universal intangible heritage of humanity, by UNESCO, of the ceramics of Talavera de la Reina, Alcázar de San Juan, and Puebla (Mexico).

In 2021, his feature film PSEUDO has been acquired by HBO in the US.
